Champagne Veuve Olivier et Fils was born as from 1922 thanks to the great grandfather of the family, Edmond, in Trélou-sur-Marne. His daughter Liliane developed his activity with her son Pierre and named the brand « Veuve Olivier et Fils » in 1955.
Today the property of the House counts more than eighteen hectares and is exploited by Sandrine Charpentier-Olivier with the help of Michelle and Pierre, her parents, who have passed on to her their knowledge of champagne wine-makers. Sandrine has grown up in the wine-growing field and has been able to build a team and techniques combining tradition and modernity to offer you the best of her heritage.
The statute and culture of « Harvester-Wine-Maker » have been perpetuated, so we produce our cuvees in our own cellars, from grapes issued and harvested on our terroir. The latter are turned into elegant Champagnes for you.
The 21 plots of the House are located in Trélou-sur-Marne in Vallée de la Marne. We grow a majority of Meunier grape variety there, but also Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We practice reasoned pest management and plot vinification, since it is very important for our house to translate the unique characteristics of our terroir. The caring of vines also plays a major part in any working approach: the Charter of Champagne Quality is fulfilled all along the Champagne wine-making process. The tradition with slow and progressive pressing in our Coquart wine-press stands together with tools from the latest technology.
As a major step typical from the champagne area, we make a blending by combining our reserve wines with our wines of the year issued from various plots, various grape varieties. This way, during tasting, you will find again the appreciated taste of Champagne Veuve Olivier et Fils.
The cuvee Carte d’Or is the champagne from our terroir: indeed, Pinot Meunier, the grape variety representing our vineyard, dominates the blending. So, this champagne has fruity notes, it is soft and charming and you can enjoy it on any occasion!
Our Grande Réserve is champagne of harmony: from the three grape varieties found in the Champagne area, it finds its balance and finesse. With a good length on the palate, it will be ideal for your aperitifs.
Our blending Rosé expresses in lightness. Its subtle and refined character calls for carefully chosen matches: fish, desserts made with red fruits, or simply, at aperitif.
Our Rosé de Saignée owes its sustained colour and powerful aromas to its vinification technique: soaking. Multiple aromas exhale, going from elegance to vinosity. Exotic dishes and desserts made with red fruits will enable you to enjoy it fully!
With long ageing in our cellars and a blending dominated by reserve wines, the cuvee Vieille Réserve develops a high aromatic richness. It will be a good companion for any meal or aperitif.
Its name holds its personality: Perle de Lumière is a champagne all in finesse and elegance. Its creamy bubbles will excite taste buds for aperitif and will delicately match with fish.
This was born from a quite specific vinification: it is 100 % Chardonnay, aged in oak barrels. With this singularity, it develops a large palette of aromas persistent on the palate. A confidential Blanc de Blancs to be tasted with white meat or cheese.
Our cellars are opened from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 12.00 am and from 2.00 to 5.00 pm and on Saturday from 09.00 to 12.00 am, on appointment in the afternoon. Please contact us to make an appointment for any tour (duration: 1 hour).
